Miguel Ã?ngel Asturias (October 19, 1899 – June 9, 1974) was a Guatemalan writer and diplomat. He was natural around Guatemala City and died in Madrid.
Around 1917, Miguel Asturias exposed law at a Universidad first state San Carlos de Guatemala in which he participated in the 1920 insurrection against Guatemalan dictator Manuel Estrada Cabrera. He graduated inside 1923 & attend Paris, France, to further his education at a Sorbonne. When sleep inside Paris, he was influenced per gathering of writers & creative person in Montparnasse and began writing poetry and fiction.
Asturias returned to Guatemala withinside 1933 in which he worked as a journalist prior to serving in his united states's diplomatic corps. He was awarded a 1967 Nobel Prize in literature "for his vivid literary achievement, deep-rooted in the national traits and traditions of Indian peoples of Latin America."
Asturias spent his final years withinside Madrid, Spain in which he died in 1974. He is buried in the Cimetière du Père Lachaise in Paris.
